Upcoming retreats

Choose your dates

Every retreat includes screening, preparation and integration. Apply for the dates you’d like, and we’ll confirm your place after your consultation with one of our psychotherapists.

Prices are per person. The lower rate is for two guests sharing a room.

None of these dates suit? A private retreat can be held on dates that work for you.

Is this for you?

For people ready to look inward, together

A smiling group in a spring garden beside the woods, some holding flowers

Our guests are thoughtful adults, often at a turning point, who feel ready for something deeper than another book or weekend course. They come for many reasons, including:

  • Clarity at a crossroads
  • Breaking old patterns
  • Reconnecting with yourself
  • Deeper purpose and meaning
  • Creativity and fresh perspective
  • Connection with others and with nature
  • Spiritual and existential exploration
  • Rest, renewal and presence
  • Resilience and self-trust

The group is part of the experience. Many guests arrive nervous about sharing the journey with strangers and leave saying the circle was what made it special.

A retreat isn’t right for everyone. See who we can’t accept.

Our standards

Questions worth asking any retreat, and how we answer them

Choosing a retreat is a serious decision. These are the things we believe matter most, and what you can expect from us.

Who screens me, and how?
Every applicant completes a medical and psychological screening, reviewed by our screening team, and has a one-to-one consultation with one of our psychotherapists. We recommend getting the all-clear from your own GP, and for more complex medical cases we consult Spirit Pharmacist, specialists in psychedelics and medication.
Who will be in the room?
Accredited psychotherapists and experienced facilitators. Our apprentice facilitators are mental health professionals trained through our own three-stage facilitator programme.
How much attention will I get?
In the Netherlands, up to 13 guests with 3 to 4 facilitators, about one for every three guests. In Costa Rica, 3 to 6 guests with two psychotherapists.
What if I need medical help?
A medical doctor is on call throughout every retreat, and our facilitators are with you through every ceremony and the hours that follow.
What happens before and after?
Two preparation sessions and two integration sessions, from your one-to-one consultation before you arrive to group integration calls two and four weeks after you return, with workbooks and videos throughout. More sessions can be booked if you’d like extra support.
How is the dose decided?
With you. Doses range from light to high depending on your needs and intentions, and whether you take the second ceremony is always your choice.
Is it legal?
In the Netherlands, psilocybin truffles are legal. We never sell psilocybin: you buy your truffles yourself from a registered Dutch store, and we arrange this for you.

Group or private?

A group retreat offers the support of a circle: shared intentions, connection with people on a similar path, and the insight that comes from hearing others’ journeys.

A private retreat is more bespoke: complete privacy, two facilitators dedicated to you, and a date that works for you.

The settings

Quiet places, chosen with care

The Netherlands. A 19th-century Dutch abbey 45 minutes north of Amsterdam, surrounded by a nature park and a walk from the beach and dunes. Every guest has a bright private room with a desk and a view of the garden or forest. There is a chapel for quiet reflection, a sauna and plunge pool, a wood-burning stove and a fire pit for the evenings.

Costa Rica. A luxury villa with a pool in the rainforest of Puntarenas province, surrounded by acres of undeveloped jungle and looking out to the Pacific. Every guest has a private ensuite room, and there is time on a tropical beach. Arriving from Europe, it’s summer in the middle of winter.

Safety and the law

Legal, careful and honest

Psilocybin truffles are legal to buy and use in the Netherlands, unlike dried psilocybin mushrooms, which have been banned since 2008. For legal reasons we never sell psilocybin: you buy your truffles yourself from a registered store, and we arrange this for you.

Every guest is screened by our team, with a one-to-one consultation with one of our psychotherapists. We recommend getting the all-clear from your own GP, and for more complex medical cases we consult Spirit Pharmacist, specialists in how psychedelics interact with medication. A medical doctor is on call throughout every retreat.

Psilocybin has low physical toxicity and is not considered addictive. Its risks are mainly psychological, which is why we screen every applicant, prepare you carefully, and stay beside you through each ceremony and afterwards.

No medical claims

We don’t make medical or therapeutic claims. Experiences vary from person to person, and a retreat is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment.

When a retreat isn’t right for you

For your safety, we can’t accept you on a retreat if you:

  • Have a diagnosis of psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, clinical depression or a personality disorder
  • Have a personal or family history of psychosis
  • Take psychiatric medication, including SSRIs, and can’t safely stop it with your doctor’s guidance
  • Are experiencing suicidal thoughts
  • Are dealing with serious addiction or substance misuse
  • Are in a very vulnerable emotional state, or experiencing severe anxiety, stress or burnout

If you’re unsure, book a call. We’ll tell you honestly whether a retreat is right for you now.

FAQ

Questions, answered

Anything else? Book a free call or email [email protected]. You can also read our methods and full FAQ.

Do I need any experience with psychedelics?

No. Many of our guests come to us for their first psilocybin experience. Your preparation covers what to expect, how to work with whatever arises, and how to set your intentions.

Who checks that I’m medically suitable?

Our screening team reviews your medical and psychological screening, and you have a one-to-one consultation with one of our psychotherapists. We recommend getting the all-clear from your own GP, and for more complex medical cases we consult Spirit Pharmacist, specialists in psychedelics and medication. A medical doctor is also on call throughout every retreat.

How large are the groups?

In the Netherlands, up to 13 guests with 3 to 4 facilitators. In Costa Rica, 3 to 6 guests with two psychotherapists.

Will I have my own room?

Yes. Every guest has a private room, with ensuite rooms available on some dates. Couples and friends can choose to share a room at a lower rate. In Costa Rica, every room is ensuite.

What dose will I take, and do I have to take both?

We agree your dose with you, from light to high depending on your needs. On the five-day retreats the second ceremony can be a higher dose if it suits you, but whether you take it is always your choice. Each ceremony lasts around four to seven hours.

Where do we meet?

In the Netherlands, near Amsterdam Centraal station at 14:00 on the first day, and we bring you back there by 14:00 on the last day. In Costa Rica, at Cobano airport at 15:45; most guests fly there from San José with Sansa or Green Airways.

Is my information kept private?

Yes. We are used to working with guests who value their privacy, and everything you share with our team during screening and the retreat is kept confidential.

What food is served?

All meals are included: vegetarian and vegan, organic and local where possible. Our guests often mention the food as a highlight.

What isn’t included?

Flights and travel to Amsterdam or Costa Rica, and the psilocybin truffles, which you buy separately for legal reasons (in the Netherlands, allow €45 to €75). Extra preparation or integration sessions can be booked if needed (€120 each).

Should I take time off afterwards?

It isn’t essential, but we suggest taking as much time as you can to rest and let the experience settle. If you can stay a few extra days in Costa Rica, we recommend it.
